A dual-mandate role at the frontier of search. Half your job is classic SEO — ranking clients on Google and Bing through rigorous keyword research, on-page work, and link building. The other half is GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) — making sure our clients get cited and recommended by AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. You'll own organic strategy for 8–15 client websites across India, US, UK & Australia, plus run the agency's own blog as an inbound engine. Most agencies in India are still figuring out whether GEO matters. We already know it does — and this hire defines our approach.
- Keyword research, on-page optimisation, and technical SEO audits for every client account within the first 2 weeks of onboarding
- Off-page SEO: backlink strategy, guest-post outreach, and digital PR placements to grow domain authority
- GEO: structure content — FAQs, definitions, numbered lists, schema markup — so AI models cite your clients as trusted sources
- Monitor client brand mentions inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Bing Copilot — track, report, and improve AI visibility quarterly
- Write or commission 4 long-form SEO articles per month for the agency site — own the quality, not just the brief
- Monthly ranking + traffic + AI-citation reports per client — clear insights, not just screenshots
- Local SEO for India clients: Google Business Profile, citation consistency, review strategy
- Optimise YouTube titles, descriptions, tags & chapters for discoverability (2 agency videos/month)
- 1–2 years hands-on SEO at a digital agency — not just in-house brand
- Working knowledge of Semrush or Ahrefs for research and rank tracking
- Google Search Console & GA4 as daily tools, not things you Google how to use
- Proven ability to write or brief long-form SEO content — bring samples
- Basic technical SEO: crawl errors, Core Web Vitals, schema, sitemaps
- Genuine curiosity about GEO / AI search — you don't need to be an expert yet
- Prior GEO experience: content structured for AI citation, entity optimisation
- YouTube SEO: title/description optimisation and keyword research for video
- Local SEO: Google Business Profile, citation audits
- Basic HTML/CSS — implement simple on-page changes without a developer
- E-commerce SEO on Shopify or WooCommerce for D2C clients
- Can independently write 1,500+ word articles in English
